- This was the first show of the Prince: Piano & A Microphone tour. It was the first of two Melbourne shows on the same night and first of four shows at the venue.
- It was first announced on 5 February 2016
- Tickets for this show went on sale on Tuesday 9 February 2016 at 12 noon AEDT and sold out quickly. Although limited extra tickets were made available on 15 February.
- Actual tickets and wristbands, both needed to gain access to the venue were available at the venue’s box office at noon on the day of show.
- Every ticket purchased included a copy of the Hitnrun Phase Two album, distributed to ticket holders upon exiting the venue.
- This show included the live debut of The Dawn, seemingly in connection with the passing of Denise Matthews a.k.a. Vanity the day before.
- Prince had most, if not all, of his concerts recorded and archived in his vault. At the end of this show, charged with emotions after the Vanity’s passing, he asked his engineer Scottie Baldwin to erase this recording. This is the only time this engineer received this instruction during the entire period he worked with Prince (1992 - 2016)
