Recording dates and studio are unknown, but it is likely the track was recorded in 2008 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, 77 Beverly Park Ln. in Beverly Hills, California or Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California. The track in essence begins at the end of the album's previous track, Wall Of Berlin, with party noises associated with this track, serving as an introduction prior to the song's musical beginning.

On 16 February 2009, the website DrFunkenberry.com reported that the track $ had leaked online following a video shoot for the song directed by Sanaa Hamri, but this report seemed to have been fabricated to generate excitement for the album, and it is unclear if a video really exists.

This song is unrelated to the 1983 track Money.
