Trivia

  • This was the first show of a three show Welcome 2 Chicago residency, announced on 31 August 2012.
  • Tickets went on sale to the general public Thursday, 6 April 2012 at 10:00 a.m. CDT, with pre-sales for Citi® Cardmember (Tuesday 4 September, 10 a.m. CDT), and Facebook/Text/Live Nation/Venue Pre-sales (5 September, 10 a.m. CDT). A 24-hour pre-sale for VIP tickets was also held from 4 September, 10 a.m. CDT
  • While initially this show was listed as sold out shortly after tickets went on sale, more ticket became available on 20 September. While not all of these extra tickets were sold, this show still was touted as ’sold out.'
  • The Welcome 2 Chicago shows were all in support of the Rebuild the Dream foundation.
  • There was a 40 minute encore break (the first 30 minutes with the house lights off) before the final two songs. Most of the audience had left by then.
  • Apparently Prince was discontent with the sound, which led to the long interval.
  • Three after jams were announced at the Chicago House Of Blues to coincide with the three Welcome 2 Chicago shows. The first of the three, following the 24 September 2012 concert, was started by Andy Allo with the NPG Hornz, but cut short by the local authorities before Prince could enter the stage.
