Private Waters in the Great Divide is the seventh full-length studio album by Kid Creole and the Coconuts (their third album on Columbia Records), and includes the song The Sex Of It, written and mostly performed by Prince. The album was completed and scheduled for release when Prince submitted the song (which he had promised when meeting Creole in Europe during the Lovesexy Tour), and the record company delayed the release to include the song. The album produced two singles, The Sex Of It (which preceeded the album) and I Love Girls, but did not enter the charts.
