The show at Le Zenith in Paris, France on 25 August 1986 was professionally recorded using a mobile recording truck for possible release as a live album. Prince acknowledged this fact during the intro of 17 Days: " I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. We’re recording live here tonight. In other words, this is a record! The more noise you make, the more noise we make!". The soundcheck was also professionally recorded.

It is not known when the whole project was totally abandoned and if there was an intention to rework the recording with various overdubs and edits. A mostly instrumental version of It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night was debuted during this show. The track was heavily reworked in studio with additional vocals and edits between 22 and 30 November 1986 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California and included on the (ultimately abandonned) Crystal Ball album and released on Sign O’ The Times. A mix for Girls & Boys was created in early December 1986 but it is not known if any other work has been done on the recording of the show which remains unreleased.
