Vermillion is the first and only Paisley Park Records album by Los Angeles band Three O'Clock, and was released in May 1988.
One of the tracks, Neon Telephone was written by Prince (as Joey Coco).
Prince also contributed the songs Girl O' My Dreams, We Can Funk, Teacher, Teacher and Can't Stop This Feeling I Got, but these songs were rejected by the band. Neon Telephone was recorded by Prince in July 1985. The version used on the album retains Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman's background vocals, but was otherwise re-recorded by the band in 1987 or early 1988.
Promotion
The album produced two singles, Love Explosion and Neon Telephone. The album did not enter the charts, however.
