|introduction = Around The World In A Day is the first track on Prince's seventh album Around The World In A Day, the second to be credited to [[Prince and the Revolution].
The track was first written and recorded by David Coleman (Lisa Coleman's brother) in June 1984, when given two days of studio time at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA as a birthday gift from Prince. When Prince heard the resulting track, he loved it and wanted to include it on his next album. He re-recorded the track and made some musical and lyrical changes.
Basic tracks for Prince's version were recorded on 16 September 1984 at Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse, Eden Prairie, MN, USA.
This is the only Prince-related track to give writing credit to David Coleman. |recording info = |- align="left" |style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"|June 1984 |style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"|Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA |style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"|Demo by David Coleman (no Prince input) |- align="left" |style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"|16 September 1984 |style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"|Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse, Eden Prairie, MN, USA |style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"|Initial tracking |- align="left" |style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"|2006 (assumed) |style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"|Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA (assumed) |style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"|Initial tracking of 'Versace Experience' version |recording personnel =
