Baby Go-Go is the third track on the Nona Hendryx album Female Trouble, and, about two months later, Baby Go-Go was released as the album’s second single.

Basic tracking took place on 12 June 1986 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California. Nona Hendryx re-recorded the track with her own musicians in early 1987, with both Mavis Staples and George Clinton adding background vocals (both of whom Prince would come to work with directly in the following years).
