Prince submitted Wouldn’t You Love To Love Me? instead but Michael Jackson didn’t use the song. In 2019, an interview with Susannah Melvoin stating that Prince reworked the song on his own and sent it to Michael Jackson was published online but Susannah Melvoin denied this shortly afterwards on Twitter saying she was misquoted and that this re-recording never happened.
