Bedtime Story is the eighth and final track on Sheila E.’s second album Romance 1600, and, two weeks before the album’s release, Bedtime Story was released as the album’s second single. In 1986, the track was included as the b-side of a Japan-only release of Love On A Blue Train, the first single from Sheila E.’s third album Sheila E.
Basic tracking took place on 22 January 1985 at 5th Floor Recording Studio, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, following a 21 January show in Cincinnati, on the Purple Rain Tour.
