Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart

Definition

Below are listed all Prince singles that have hit either the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart, and/or the Billboard Adult Top 40 charts (also known as Hot AC). Both charts are distinctive in Billboard charts categories.

The Adult Contemporary chart was created in late july 1961 in order to list American soft pop music (also known as Easy Listening music). In March 1996, Billboard created the Adult Top 40 chart : a feature of the most-played songs from the 43 leading Adult Top 40 radio stations in the country.

The singles that have made the Adult Top 40 are indicated with AT overlooking the peak position figure. Top 10 hits are highlighted in light purple. Release dates are those valid for the USA.

Visit Billboard Hot 100 for an history of Prince's singles hits in the US Pop charts and The Billboard 200 for the albums' hits in the US pop charts.
The Billboard charts are published on Wednesdays and feature the airplay + sales figures collected for the week ending the preceding Saturday.
