Call Of The Wild is an unreleased track recorded in late July 1985 at the Washington Avenue Warehouse in Edina, Minnesota. Susannah Melvoin had prompted Prince to listen to some music by British rock band Led Zeppelin, which inspired Prince to write this heavy rock track. Susan Rogers and Peggy McCreary mixed the track in September 1985, when Prince was considering it for use on Parade. It was not included on any known configuration of the album, however, and Prince may have thought it did not fit musically. The track remains unreleased, but the lyrics and melody of its verses were later re-used in part for the also unreleased We Got The Power.

While it is not known if the recording included participation from other Revolution bandmembers, the song is listed here as a Prince and the Revolution recording based on the timing of its recording and its consideration for the Parade album, which was released under the name Prince and the Revolution.
