Dandelion is an unreleased track written by Marcus Anderson and recorded in August 2014 by NPG Q, a band consisting of John Blackwell, Marcus Anderson, Andrew Gouché and Xavier Taplin.

The basis for the track was recorded live during a show by NPG Q on 10 August 2014 (a.m.) at Paisley Park Studios (' NPGMC Room ') in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Prince added his guitar parts later in August.

The song was originally thought to be co-written by Prince and Marcus Anderson. Anderson has since confirmed that he was misquoted and is in fact the sole author of the track. The inspiration comes from a story Prince told him about his father. Dandelion was intended for an album by NPG Q, a project that was abandoned when John Blackwell left to tour with D’Angelo in October 2014.

Marcus Anderson re-recorded the track with other musicians and released it in 2017 on his “Limited Release” album. The version with Prince’s instrumental and production inputs remains unreleased.
