Fire is an unreleased cover version by Flash of the song by The Jimi Hendrix Experience (written by Jimi Hendrix, from Are You Experienced, 1967, also released as a single), recorded in late 1989 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (during the same set of sessions as Good Body Every Evening and a cover version of Day Tripper), during the last set of sessions for the Flash album.

The track was not included on the final configuration of the album, and remains unreleased.

• Prince has covered other songs by Jimi Hendrix in the studio (Red House, covered as Purple House), and in concert (Villanova Junction, Who Knows, Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Spanish Castle Magic and Foxy Lady).
• Flash also covered The Beatles’ Day Tripper during these sessions. Interestingly, both songs (Day Tripper and Fire) were also played live by Jimi Hendrix at the BBC radio in 1967 and officially released in 1988 on Radio One live posthumous album.
