Guideline:Magic Words

  • {{SITENAME}} displays Prince Vault
  • {{SERVERNAME}} display princevault.com
  • {{NUMBEROFPAGES}} displays the total number of pages (all type included) in the wiki (15,559 pages as of today).
  • {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} displays the numbers of articles in the wiki (6,625 pages as of today).
  • {{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}}, {{CURRENTYEAR}} display a full date such as: 29 March, 2024.
  • {{CURRENTTIME}} displays the server's time (15:01 GMT since the server is based in the UK).
  • {{DEFAULTSORT:Words, Magic}}: doesn't show on page, but changes the way the page is sorted in categories. VERY handy.
  • {{PAGESINCATEGORY: 1984}}: displays a the number of pages in a category. Handy.
  • {{FULLPAGENAME}} displays the full name of a page (Guideline:Magic Words = this page).
Attention, if the page is a Template: or a Category:, the FULLPAGENAME will display the prefix Category: or Template:+{{PAGENAME}}. Note that the prefix used in the PV such as Single:, Album: are not counted as wiki prefix.
Example:
The code {{Header|Page name= {{FULLPAGENAME}}}} will return:

Guideline:Magic Words

The code {{Header|Page name= {{PAGENAME}}}} will return:

Guideline:Magic Words

To be used in all pages without a prefix such as Single:, Album:, Video:, Book: Film: etc. (song pages for example).

The Code {{BASEPAGENAME}} will return:

Guideline:Magic Words

IF the namespaces Single: and Album would have been declared as namespaces in feb 2009, that query would return the Page Name with Single: and Album: and could be used along with the "header" template.
