| + | * Interestingly, when [[Prince]] performed the track over the years, he only sung the first verse and the chorus, followed by a guitar solo (hence perhaps the use of the singular '''Honky Tonk-Woman''' for the title instead of the original '''Honky Tonk Women'''). The track was performed in its entirety (all verses) only when it was sung with [[Shelby J.]] on lead vocals during shows in 2007. |

Honky Tonk Women is a 1969 song by The Rolling Stones, which first appeared as a single (later appearing on their 1969 compilation Through the Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2). It is written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Prince has performed the song occasionally beginning in 1993. In 1995, a rehearsal version of the track, retitled Honky Tonk-Woman, was included as the third track on Prince’s VHS release The Undertaker.
The released version was recorded on 14 June 1993 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA (along with versions of The Ride, Poorgoo, Bambi, Zannalee, The Undertaker and Dolphin, the day before recording Calhoun Square), but no other studio version by Prince is known to exist. The rehearsal recording was included as the third track on The Undertaker album (planned for release using the name ), which was ultimately abandoned.
Prince has also performed other songs by The Rolling Stones, including Miss You and (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.
