Providence is the twelfth track on singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco’s tenth solo studio album To The Teeth, and features Prince (as SymbolSmallerBlue.png) singing background vocals.

Prince met Ani DiFranco and Maceo Parker following her concert at the Midway Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on 3 July 1999, and invited them back to Paisley Park Studios, where DiFranco added guitar to EyeBlue.png Love U, But EyeBlue.png Don’t Trust U Anymore and Parker added saxophone to Prettyman.

Providence was recorded by Ani DiFranco and her band on 31 July 1999 in New Orleans, Louisiana with Prince (as SymbolSmallerBlue.png) likely adding his vocals at a time in late Summer - early Autumn, 1999, presumably at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
