If Love U 2night was the second and final commercial single to be released from Mayte's first and only album Child Of The Sun, and was released shortly before the album, in the UK and Europe. The b-side, The Rhythm Of Your ♥, was also taken from the album. Remixes of If Love U 2night were included on some versions of the single.

The single reached number 67 in the UK Gallup Singles Chart.
