Single details

Released: Spring 1994
Related album: 1-800 New Funk (although none at time of release)
Label(s): NPG Records
Non-album tracks: MPLS (12 Inch Mix) (7:00)

The Ryde Dyvine (4:17)

MPLS was the first and only single by Minneapolis. It received only a limited release through the 1-800 New Funk telephone service and The New Power Generation Stores in Minneapolis and London, and was not connected to an album at the time of release, although a few months later the track MPLS was included on the album 1-800 New Funk (a compilation of mostly-unreleased music largely written and produced by Prince/SymbolSmallerBlue.png, recorded by other Paisley Park Records artists).

The single was later available online at 1800NewFunk.com and during one show on the Love 4 One Another Charities Tour in 1997, but there was no wider retail release. The single contained an extended version of MPLS, and the track The Ryde Dyvine (which had been planned as being released by The Crayons, but was not credited as such here), both of which were not available elsewhere.

The single did not receive a wide release, and was not eligible for the charts.
