Spirit was a promotional single to be released from Martika’s second album Martika’s Kitchen, around six months after the album (following the fourth and final commercial release, Safe In The Arms Of Love, and was available in the UK only.

The single contained two remixes of the track Spirit, which was written, produced and largely performed by Prince.

As a promotional release only, the single was not eligible to enter the charts.
