Sunday Afternoon is the tenth and final track on Candy Dulfer's second album Sax-A-Go-Go (ninth track on the US edition). The instrumental was written by Prince, but re-recorded by Candy Dulfer's band, so it does not contain any direct musical input by Prince.
While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking took place in 1992 (most likely at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA). Candy Dulfer's version was recorded in 1992 or early 1993 at Zeezicht Studios, Holland with additional recording at Wisseloord Studios, Hilversum, Holland. The released track has a time of 7:15, with a seemingly-unrelated short instrumental track (not thought to include any Prince input) following after a brief pause, bringing the total time to 8:07
