The track is basically a different take on Jughead, but more than just a remix, with newly done lyrics and partly new music. In early 1991 the track was played over the PA system at the Glam Slam nightclub in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In the same session a different version of Jughead, dubbed ‘’Extended House Party Mix’’ was also worked on.

The Last Dance (Bang Pow Zoom And The Whole Nine) was released in October 2023 as the tenth track of Vault Tracks part 2, one of the discs with previously unreleased tracks included with the Diamonds And Pearls Super Deluxe Edition.
