The Last Dance (Bang Pow Zoom And The Whole Nine) was done on 12 February 1991, two weeks after Jughead, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The song is basically a different take on Jughead, but more than just a remix, with newly done lyrics and partly new music. In early 1991 the track was played over the PA system at the Glam Slam nightclub in Minneapolis, Minnesota).

In the same session a different version of Jughead, dubbed ‘’Extended House Party Mix’’ was also worked on.

The Last Dance (Bang Pow Zoom And The Whole Nine) was released as one of the songs on the Diamonds And Pearls Deluxe in 2023.
