The Ryde Dyvine, also known as The Ryde Dyvine (Explore Your Mind), credited to Minneapolis, is the third and final track on the single MPLS, which was available as a limited edition single, available from The New Power Generation Store and the phone service 1-800 New Funk only.
Over a year earlier, however, the song was performed, credited to The Crayons, on The Ryde Dyvine TV special of Prince and related artists performing at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The single contains no credits, but the song was written and produced by Prince. The song was copyrighted as The Ryde Dyvine (Explore Your Mind).
While specific recording dates are not known, basic tracking took place in August 1992, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The track was intended for a planned project titled MPLS, but this project remained unfinished.
