The Ryde Dyvine, credited to Minneapolis, is the third and final track on the single MPLS, which was available as a limited edition single, available from The New Power Generation Store and the phone service 1-800 New Funk only.
Over a year earlier, however, the song was performed, credited to The Crayons, on The Ryde Dyvine TV special of Prince and related artists performing at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. The single contains no credits, but it is believed the song was written by Prince and Sonny T., and produced by Prince.
While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking took place in August, 1992, at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. The track was intended for a planned project titled MPLS, but this project remained unfinished.
