While specific recording dates with Rita Ora of Pink Champagne and Champagne Kisses are not known, it is assumed to have been recorded in late 2013 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (along with The Single Most Amazing and Ain’t About 2 Stop, also planned for her second album). The release of her album, originally due in September 2014, was postponed several times, then simply canceled following a conflict with her label (Roc Nation). After legal proceedings and signing with Atlantic, Ora was able to release her second album "Phoenix" in 2018 omitting the Prince songs altogether.

U Will B was first streamed (as U Will B (demo duet)) on Andy Allo Facebook page on 25 January 2013, with the message:
"U Will B (demo duet)
Look what I found!! Shhh don’t tell anyone... or tell.. I dare you :)"
.

The song’s lyrics, however, have been performed live by Prince since 5 May 2011, performed over the music of The Question Of U (along with lyrics from The One), later more commonly over the music of Shhh. And from 2014 onwards as part of Little Red Corvette.

The demo version is sparse and seems to be unfinished; it is assumed a more complete studio version exists, but this has not been confirmed. It is not known if this track at any point was intended for Andy Allo’s second album Superconductor or any other project at that point.

In a 2014 interview, Rita Ora mentioned this song as planned for her second, as yet-untitled album, mentioning the lyrics "The taste of you with someone else, like chocolate cake with no milk." She stated that the track was titled Be With Me, then retitled Pink Champagne, before being renamed Champagne Kisses. It is not yet known if any lyrical changes exist between the different variations of the track but at leat one of them contains additional lines that were on the initial U Will B such as "I prefer the hits, you prefer your misses" and "It’s time to say goodbye to the champagne kisses". In an interview, Ora revealed that "He just sends me these different versions, and I love all of them and I don’t know which one to pick! But that’s how you know he is so creative: he takes a song and sends them to me as different interpretations. It’s just incredible."
