Undercover Lover is an unreleased song, which was premiered (in part) during The New Power Generation Radio Show (hosted by Prince (under the name Me, Myself and I) and Robin Power, Ingrid Chavez and Levi Seacer, Jr.) on Minneapolis radio station KMOJ on 9 December 1989. The track was written by Prince and Levi Seacer, Jr., and is assumed to have been produced by Prince.

While specific recording dates are not known, basic tracking took place in late 1989 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, during the same set of sessions as Number One (Prince met Robin Power in late October 1989). It was planned for inclusion on a proposed album by Robin Power, but Prince lost interest and the album was never completed.
