Its colors seem to have more of a green hue and there are less lyrics and objects floating through the screen, which are sometimes also in a different color. The alternate also runs three seconds longer, but this is mostly the fade out at the end which is slightly extended.

I Wish U Heaven is a Prince video released for broadcast and to promote the single.

It was filmed at S.I.R. in Los Angeles, California on 2 June 1988 before the Lovesexy Tour commenced. It was directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, who had also shot the cover for Lovesexy, and whom had previously directed Jill Jones’ video for Mia Bocca.

In style, it is not too far removed from the Alphabet St. video. It features Prince singing the song in a computer generated background of light blue sky. The title I Wish U Heaven floats through the images, in the font made by Margo Chase as used for the song titles on the album. Other images include the figurines Prince had also on a necklace, as seen on the front of the Lovesexy Tourbook. It has the girls in the band (Sheila E., Cat and Boni Boyer) singing back up. While Sheila is also hitting a snare drum. In some shots Prince is over-imposed in a close-up, when he is also shown in the background. There are also images of a blueish green apple on a branch, and a humming bird, the deeper meaning of which (if any) is uncertain.

Extra footage was also shot for this video in the Met Center, Bloomington, MN on 15 September 1988 at 11 AM before the second Lovesexy Tour show in that venue, although it is unclear if any of it was used in the end product.

Two versions of this video were made. The initial one did not have Boni Boyer in it and some of the objects floating in and out of the scene are different.

Of note, the video features the last appearance of Sheila E., Cat Glover and Boni Boyer in a Prince video.
