The Greatest Romance Ever Sold is a Prince (as SymbolSmallerBlue.png) video released for broadcast and to promote the single.

The video was filmed at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, MN, USA, between 6 November, 1999 and 8 November, 1999.

It features only Prince and a female dancer that went by the name Desray. Prince is said to have met her after spotting her in a chorus line of strippers at the Crazy Horse in Paris, France. The choreography performed by Prince and Desray in this video dismayed Mayte who was still officially Prince's wife at this time when their marriage was in turmoil.

  • In his cover of Sheryl Crow's Everyday Is A Winding Road, Prince changed thew lyric I hitched a ride with a vending machine repair man to I hitched a ride with a Crazy horse showgirl, likely alluding Desray, the female in the video.
  • Although Prince (as SymbolSmallerBlue.png) has released a triple-album compilation (Crystal Ball) between Emancipation and Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic and that there were many videos for the songs included in it, none of them was used as a promotional tool for the compilation (the rumoured video of 2morrow with footage from Blue Light is a actually fan-made and unofficial). There were also no video released, or known tho have been shot, for The Truth (packaged with Crystal Ball).
