The first created in 2008 to promote the release of Prince and Randee St. Nicholas’ 21 Nights book has its own entry (see here). The second version was released posthumously by The Prince Estate in 2018 on the Prince YouTube channel along with previously known videos from that 3121/Planet Earth era. |
The second video for The One U Wanna C was previously unreleased before its official upload in 2018. It was co-directed by Phil Stoole (who also worked on the unreleased 21 documentary) and shot at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, Minnesota in either 2007 or 2008. This version is a colorful performance of the song with the same reduced NPG configuration seen on Guitar (2008 version) (The Twinz, Cora Coleman-Dunham, Joshua Dunham and Morris Hayes) except that The Twinz are playing guitar with Prince. The performance is interspersed with footage of girls having fun and getting ready to go out and join Prince on the set. Of note, the heart shaped neon that was used first in the 1999 video is visible in the girls’ bedroom. A second edit without the girls parts was made but remains unreleased. | The second video for The One U Wanna C was previously unreleased before its official upload in 2018.
