Walk Don't Walk is the eighth track on the album Diamonds And Pearls, the first album credited to Prince and the New Power Generation.
While specific recording dates are not known, basic tracking took place in June 1990 in London, England (during the same set of sessions that produced Daddy Pop and Schoolyard, but mostly focused on Rosie Gaines' first solo album, recording My Tender Heart, Hold Me, Pain, Streetwalker, In The Name Of Love and Turn Your Lights Down Low). The track was included as the second track on the December 1990, configuration of Diamonds And Pearls, but was moved to become the eighth track on the 1 March 1991 and 8 May 1991 configurations, where it remained for release. In early 1993, Walk Don't Walk was included as the b-side on a planned single of Blue Light, but the single was left unreleased.
