X's Face (a.k.a. The X's Face) is the seventh track on Prince's 38th album Hitnrun Phase One. Six months earlier, the track (as The X's Face) was available as a free download, emailed by Live Nation to ticket holders for four Prince and 3rdEyeGirl concerts scheduled in Louisville, KY, USA (on 14 and 15 March, 2015) on the night of the first show (along with What If). It had been premiered the night before on New York City radio station 90.7 WFUV.
Almost six months earlier, the track was streamed in part during the Yahoo! Live album release party for Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum by Joshua Welton from his Macbook Pro in Paisley Park Studios (Studio C), Chanhassen, MN, USA (along with Revelation and Ain't About 2 Stop).
While specific recording dates are not known, it is assumed to have been recorded in Summer 2014 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA.
