Heaven Is Keeping Score is an unreleased track recorded in September or October 1990, at Larrabee Sound Studios in North Hollywood, California during recording sessions for the New Power Generation maxi-single (during the same set of sessions as the N.P.G. (Funky Weapon Remix), T.C.'s Rap, Tony’s Iggnant Mix, Get Off, The Lubricated Lady, Loveleft, Loveright, a segue later included in the N.P.G. (Funky Weapon Remix), Oobey Doop, Play, and additional recording on My Tree and A Positive Place). The track is a short spoken piece with some piano touches, ending with the guitar and spoken finale of New Power Generation (Pt. II), which was probably added when the maxi-single was sequenced. It was included as the twelfth and final track (eleventh song) on an October 1990 configuration of the New Power Generation maxi-single, but was removed from the final release, and the track remains unreleased.
