Recording dates and studio are unknown, but horns overdubs were recorded on 1 September 2008 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California. The track in essence begins at the end of the album’s previous track, Wall Of Berlin, with party noises associated with this track, serving as an introduction prior to the song’s musical beginning.
On 16 February 2009, the website DrFunkenberry.com reported that the track $ had leaked online following a video shoot for the song directed by Sanaa Hamri, but this report seemed to have been fabricated to generate excitement for the album, and it is unclear if a video really exists.
This song is unrelated to the 1983 track Money.
