	This show was the first of a series of "hit n' run" shows held across the USA in support of the Parade album. Due to their short notice and lack of a scheduled itinerary, this is not considered to be a formal tour in the way that the later Parade Tour is, although the shows were largely similar in every other way. Local radio station WBCN announced the concert at 11 am on the day of the show, and the 1,200 tickets were sold out 90 minutes later. Outside the club, people were offered $300 or more for tickets. Plans for the show were set in motion when Boston concert promoter Don Law received a call from Steve Fargnoli asking if Prince could play the Metro two days later. This show included the live debuts by Prince of (How Much Is) That Doggie In The Window?, ♥ or $ and Ain’t It Funky Now (as a horn interpolation in ♥ or $), as well as the first full performance at a Prince show of The Dance Electric.
