Bamboozled is the soundtrack album to the 2000 Spike Lee movie Bamboozled, containing the song 2045: Radical Man, by Prince (later also released with the artist credit New Power Generation).

The album also contains tracks by Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Chuck D and Common, and ended with clips of five tracks by then-unknown artist India Arie.

Of note, this album marks the first appearance of a newly-recorded track to be credited to Prince since he returned to that name in May 2000 (although the track had already been planned for inclusion on the New Power Generation album Peace, and had been mentioned as such on NPGOnlineLtd.com in March 2000, indicating that it was recorded before the name change).

It is likely the name Prince was used instead of New Power Generation for purely commercial reasons.

Promotion

Three promotional singles (Blak Iz Blak by Mau Maus featuring Mos Def, Canibus, Charli Baltimore, MC Serch, Mums & Cano Grills, Misrepresented People by Stevie Wonder and Charli by Charli Baltimore) were released. The album reached only number 69 in the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.
