Be Yourself album is the second MCA Records studio album by soul singer Patti LaBelle (formerly part of the band Labelle, along with Nona Hendryx).

The album contains two songs with writing input by Prince, Yo Mister, and Love 89 (co-written with Sheena Easton). Both tracks were recorded by Prince, with Patti LaBelle simply replacing Prince's vocals with her own.

Prince later contributed the song I Hear Your Voice to Patti LaBelle's next album, Burnin' in 1991.

Promotion

The album produced three singles, If You Asked Me To, Yo Mister (which contained various remixes of the track), and I Can't Complain. The album reached number 86 on the US Billboard Pop Chart, and number 14 on the Billboard Black Chart.
