Dance Unto The Rhythm and Get Blue were initially recorded in March 1991. In addition to the two released tracks, Prince offered another track recorded specifically for the album, titled Hey, Louie Louie (recorded in April 1991), but this was rejected for the album.

The album produced three singles, The Thought of It, Brother Louie and Walk With Me, but the album failed to chart.

Additional Information

Promotion (at time of release) Trivia

  • Interestingly, the 'Thank you' section features Alex Nevermind and Rhonda Smith. It is not known however if this is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Prince’s famous alias (as the author of Sugar Walls) or an actual person as he is already cited as Prince and if Rhonda Smith is Prince’s future bass player or an homonym (she is not credited as a musician on the album).
