Telepathy is the fourth album by pop/rock/country singer Deborah Allen and was released on 19 March 1987.
The album contained, and was named after, Telepathy, written and recorded by Prince under the name Joey Coco.
Sessions and compiling
Record label RCA had encouraged Deborah Allen to explore and expand her musical horizons; she had begun to employ electronic instrumentation on her previous album "Let Me Be the First", issued in 1984. Deborah Allen and Prince were recording in different studios at the Sunset Sound, Los Angeles, California, USA, when she asked a song to Prince, through her sound engineer Bill Jackson who had previously worked with him. Prince re-recorded Witness 4 The Prosecution for her but chose to give her the newly written Telepathy.
Promotion
The album produced one single, Telepathy, but did not enter any of US Billboard charts.
