The Lover In Me is the ninth full-length studio album by Scottish singer Sheena Easton. The album contained the tracks 101 and Cool Love, written and produced by Prince under the pseudonym Joey Coco.


Recording process

101 was recorded in early January, 1987. Cool Love followed the next year, in May, 1988. Both tracks featured Prince on all instruments, with Sheena Easton providing vocals.

The track Jaguar was also recorded for the album, in mid-January, 1987, but this was later given to Mavis Staples for her album Time Waits For No One.


Promotion

The album produced five singles, The Lover In Me, Days Like This, 101, No Deposit, No Return and Follow My Rainbow (released in Germany only).

It reached number 44 on the US Billboard Pop Chart, and number 29 on the Billboard R&B Chart.
