And How is the third track on the 1991 French release of Jevetta Steele's first solo album Here It Is (Jevetta Steele is also part of the group The Steeles). The song was removed from the 1993 worldwide reissue, for unknown reasons.

Basic tracking for Prince's original version took place on 19 March 1986 at Prince's Galpin Blvd Home Studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota during initial sessions for the Dream Factory album (four days after The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker, the same day as Power Fantastic, and the day before And That Says What?). David Z. Rivkin and Levi Seacer, Jr. re-worked and re-recorded the song with Jevetta Steele's vocals, in November 1990, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, without any new contribution from Prince (during the same set of sessions where David Z. Rivkin and Levi Seacer, Jr. worked with Prince to record Well Done, and Prince also recorded Hey, Louie Louie and Get Blue).
