Cinnamon Girl is the sixth track on Prince’s 28th album Musicology, and, six months after the album’s release, Cinnamon Girl was released as the album’s second commercially available single (with Call My Name released in the US to radio only in May), containing different tracks and different covers in the North American and European versions.
Initial recording dates are unknown, but it is likely that the track was recorded in early 2004 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, when Candy Dulfer was around.
