Euphoria Highway is a track initially recorded on 17 February 1986 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California while working on Jill Jones’ first album Jill Jones. The song was re-recorded the next day, retaining the lyrics (which contains references to his drummer Bobby Z. and his new wife Vicki), but with totally different music that suited Jones better. The song was included on a configuration of Jill Jones’ eponymous album made on 20 February 1986, but removed from the later configurations.

In a backstage meeting with George Clinton after Prince and the Revolution’s guest appearance with Sheila E. on 6 March 1986 at Universal Amphitheatre, Universal City, CA, USA, Prince gave Clinton a tape of the song (along with Eternity) for use on a planned album by Vanessa Williams that Clinton was set to produce, but the project did not come to pass.
