First Released: 27 March 1995 - Exodus album
Album(s): Exodus
Writer(s): Prince, Sonny T., Michael B., Mr. Hayes and Tommy Barbarella (credited to the New Power Generation)
Producer(s): Prince (credited to the New Power Generation)

Exodus album segues are a series of skits included on the New Power Generation’s second ’solo' album Exodus. Three of them were included on the NPG Records Sampler Experience given to some concertgoers at later dates on The Ultimate Live Experience tour in the weeks prior to the album’s release: NPG Operator Intro (titled 1-800-New-Funk), DJ Gets Jumped and Segue # 2, titled Sonny Turns The TV Off.

Recording of the segues took place in Late May - early June 1994, most likely at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. Editing for final release took place in December 1994 - January 1995 at Paisley Park Studios. Three segues that were planned for inclusion on earlier configurations of Exodus remain unreleased.

Brief clips of songs that were unreleased at that time can be heard during some of these segues : Dream Factory, Baby Don’t Care and Days Of Wild.

NPG Operator Intro

NPG Operator Intro (a.k.a. 1-800-New-Funk) is the first track on the New Power Generation’s second ’solo' album Exodus.

It introduces the album with SymbolSmallerBlue.png playing someone calling NPG Records to find out about their "worldwide talent search". The operator, credited to Rain Ivana but played by Mayte, says that above all, the people they’re looking for must be able to "Get Wild", leading directly into Get Wild.

A few weeks before the album’s release, this track was included as the second track (titled 1-800-New-Funk) on the NPG Records Sampler Experience given to some concertgoers at later dates on The Ultimate Live Experience tour.

The track was included as the third track on the 19 June 1994 configuration of Exodus. It was then moved to become the first track on the 2 December 1994 configuration, where it stayed for the final release.

Segue [# 5] is the seventeenth track on the New Power Generation’s second ’solo' album Exodus.

It is a skit (seemingly a dream by Sonny T.) in which the two ladies introduced to Sonny T. by DJ Brother Jules, in DJ Seduces Sonny, make him some soup, which will induce hallucinations, leading directly into Hallucination Rain.

The track was included (as Rain) as the eleventh track on the 19 June 1994 configuration of Exodus. It was not included on the 2 December 1994 configuration, but was added back in for the final release (along with Hallucination Rain, its corresponding track).
