Hey U is an unreleased song recorded on 23 June 1991 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Hey U was filed for copyright registration on 4 October 1991. The track was intended for a planned solo project by Margie Cox (after the Flash album, for which she sung lead vocals, was abandoned), but this album remained unreleased.

The song contains musical elements from Archie Bell & The Drells’ 1968 song Tighten Up and a chorus reminiscent of The Esquires’ 1967 song Get On Up, both covered by Prince and the New Power Generation on the Act I Tour in 1993. It also contains a sample of LaWanda Page’s voice saying Hold it, Fred! (from the TV series Sanford And Son) also heard on Gangster Glam recorded around the same time.
