Buff was not involved in recording of that track, meaning it was most likely recorded separately. Recording engineer L. Stu Young said that Prince recorded The Marrying Kind, If Eye Was The Man In Ur Life and On The Couch back-to-back at Metalworks Studios, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is not known however if this was a full re-recording of the song.
