Nine Lives (sometimes known as 9 Lives) is an unreleased song originally recorded by Cat recorded between November 1988, and January 1989, at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA, for use on her planned solo album (during the same set of sessions as Cat And Mouse, Cat Attack and A Man Called Jesus). The project was abandoned, however, when Cat announced she was moving to England to work with producer Tim Simenon. The track was worked on further in early June 1989, also at Paisley Park Studios, when Morris Day added lead vocal overdubs. Margie Cox added vocal overdubs on the chorus on 12 June 1989, also at Paisley Park Studios. The track was included as the second track on an early September 1989, configuration of Corporate World, and the track was planned as the first single release from the album, but it was removed when the album was re-worked to become Pandemonium. The track remains unreleased.
