Noon Rendezvous is the third track on Sheila E.'s first album The Glamorous Life, and, in Autumn 1984, an edit of the track was included as the b-side of Oliver's House, the album's second single. Noon Rendezvous is the only track on the album to have contained writing input from Sheila E. (despite the album's credits stating she had written all the songs), co-written by Prince and Sheila E.
Initial tracking took place on 13 February 1984 at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA (six days after God (Love Theme From Purple Rain) and five days before Another Lonely Christmas). Sheila E.'s vocals were recorded in the first few days of April 1984 at Sunset Sound.
