- 1982 – MTV adds the video for 1999 to their rotation schedule. While a seemingly minor event, this is said to be one of the moments that dramatically changed Prince’s career, making his music accessible to an entire new audience
- 2008 - A new website, MPLSound.com, streams (There’ll Never B) Another Like Me (Inst Short Edit) without an artist credit (two days later this would be revealed as a Prince track)
