Push & Pull, a cover version of the song written by Nikka Costa and Justin Stanley and performed by Nikka Costa (from her first U.S. album Everybody Got Their Something (2001), and also available as a promo-only single the following year), was first released by Prince as a live version with lead vocals by Nikka Costa as the fourth track on the Live At The Aladdin Las Vegas DVD. In 2015, an acoustic studio recording by Andy Allo featuring Prince on acoustic guitar was made available as the second track on the acoustic album Oui Can Luv by Andy Allo featuring Prince on acoustic guitar.

Specific recording dates for the studio recording are not known, but the track is believed to have been recorded in mid-2011 to mid-2012 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, during sessions for Andy Allo's second album Superconductor. No other studio version by Prince is believed to exist.
